Creative research for my MFA Dance Thesis investigated relationships between dance and mental health: dance and other visual arts as therapy for individuals with depression, and examples of dance and other visual arts portraying mental health disorders. Broadening the scope of these relationships to investigate how inner experiences are connected to outer expressions (physicality of bodily movement), I created a kinesthetic/auditory method for participants to explore and document in individual journals.
